how to read strip thermometer?

Hi, I was wondering how you read the strip thermometer. When i look at it i see 3 numbers with the lowest being brown, second being lowest dark blue, third being light green. i am assuming the temp. is the highest number it reads. Just need some verification, thanks.

I always thought it was the one that seemed brighter...Don't know why, I don't think I read it or anything.
I strongly recommend replacing it with a floating thermometer. The type you are using is just not accurate enough.

the strip thermometer i'm using (by ATI) says no the instruction that the lowest temperature (colored BLUE) is 2 degrees lower than the actual temperature, the higher temperature (colored BROWN) is 1 degree higher, and the middle temperature (colored GREEN) is the actual tank temperature. i've found mine easy to use and pretty accurate. i'm treating for ich right now and put the temperature at 84F on my heater and that's the highest the strip will show, and that's being marked as being the temperature in the water right now

The strip thermometer is simply not that accurate due to that heating and cooling the glass will take a will longer than the water inside your tank. (This is why we use windows in our houses, to insulate) IMHO a floating or one that hangs by suction cup inside the tank would be much more accurate, and also by looking a little harder will help you keep a better watch on things in your tank.

The green number is the temp, as stated they aren't accurate anyway.
