Panda Cory Cat died!

Hi, i have a 10 gallon tank and have 3 red eye balloon tetras, 3 glo-lite tetras and one small angelfish (no bigger than 3 inches). I am planning to return it to my local fish shop when it gets too big because they said that would be fine. i had a panda cory cat and it seemed all happy and was swimming around and cleaning the tank. then one night i noticed that its one eye was like gone, and the other was all popped out. then the next day it had like no eyes! was it popeye?? my ammonia and nitrates are both steadily at 0, although my ph is just a little high (7.6). what exactly was it and it contagious?? (this was about a week ago, and all of my fish seem very healthy and are not behaving oddly)

It was pop-eye and it is usually happens when another serious problem is affecting the fish. It could have been stress from not having a mate in the tank with him, or another disease. Cories need at least need to be in pairs, or better yet threes to live long happy lives. They generally dont survive very long alone.
