It does not make saltwater. It makes purified tap water from your sink.
It plugs into your kitchen sink and purifies the water coming out. Most tap water is unsuitable for saltwater fish tanks. It's okay for humans to drink--but it's full of heavy metals and phosphates and nitrates and all kinds of junk that these fish have never been exposed too. They have never been exposed to copper or other heavy metals found in our tap water. It's not good for them.
So, the Reverse Osmosis unit gets the water like 98.9% pure and the Dionizer removes chlorine and chloramine.
THEN you mix up the salt and put it in your tank. Much better for the fishies.
