white Flakes

Every time i turn up my protein skimmer These Flakes of white come out .. and there all over my sand .. im thinking it just salt ??

Which skimmer do you have? Or is it DIY?

Sounds like it could be the buildup on the inside of the skimmer breaking away when you increase the flow. If you are just turning the skimmer on from a standstill then this scenaro is more likely.

If it is salt crust going back into the tank then it should dissolve fairly quickly.

my Skimmer is a Red sea prizm and they dont dissolve they sit there and if i move them around and they get sucked up..lol
