Feeding While Gone

I know I'm going to be gone for a week in June. Are there any automated feeders to use?

Our dog sitters, who I would trust to do this, will be at the same place we are (Saluki National Specialty). I could probably rope a friend into it, just was wondering if there was another option??

I personally woulkd not use an auto-feeder. I have had mine fail several times on my freshwater tanks. Once it got stuck and kept dumping food, a weeks worth in one day, and another time it got clogged and did not empty any food out. Both of these could cause serious problems in your saltwater tank. I would find a friend that can follow directions accurately to feed the fish.

what kind of fish do you have and do you have live rock and how long has your tank been setup ? Some fish will be fine for a week without food . I personaly would go this route ,but if you don't measure food, bag and mark with day (non - fish people over feed).I personaly don't know about auto-feeders .Maybe someone else can chime in on them

There are no auto-feeders capable and stable enough for a salt tank IMO. I would see if you could have someone feed, but make sure you show them what and how much a few times before your trip, having them watch you do it then you watching them. Just explain how important it is to not overfeed so you do not make them feel awkward.
