Been about a month since I could get back to posting due to a torrid teaching schedual for April, but still kept up with the tank nearly an hour a day. Pushing 10 weeks now on the tank and all diatom bloom has ceased and I started adding some bottled microbacteria along with my water changes now. Worked wonders as nearly all the small leftover stuff on the bottom of the tank disappeared overnight, leaving the substrate a nice shiny white. Picked up 2 varieties of green mushrooms, a large white finger leather, a small brown/green Button Polyp colony, a Cauliflower Colt Coral, a squamosa clam, a linckia blue star measuring almost a foot, and 6 blue chromis that I put in as a school over the last month. Moved a few things around to accomodate the newbies, and they seem to be doing a lot better with the new placement too.

During the last water change a few days ago, I started up a baby fish saltwater tank for my wife instead of the planted tank that I had planned on. Dropped a germ reduction light in the tank in along with a sand base this time with just some substrate scattered on top for looks. Is doing well so far with the water from the big tank, but I haven't had a chance to build a page for it yet.
