Moor Goldfish acts slow and heavy! Help!
so for a few days my moor goldfish has been laying on rocks, moving real slow and doesn't seem to breathe consistently... however the water was recently tested and approved by the fish shop. and i recently added a couple of smaller goldfish to this 18 gallon tank. i don't really understand the behavior, except that he seems lazy. any help on the situation would be much appreciated. (also with the addition of the couple new ones, i HAVE been using a quick cure for ick since it started showing up on one of the new fish.
thanks!!
after doing another water test, it does seem my nitrate level is a bit high, but nothing too ridiculous. it's running at around 60 or so. other times my goldfish will act normal and be taking slow laps around the tank. personality maybe?

Re: Moor Goldfish acts slow and heavy! Help!
Aw spencypoo sorry for the problems. Maybe it's the meds?? Does not really sound like a swim bladder thing and if all else seems to be fine then you have to narrow it down to when you put the new fish in and the problem began.....keep us posted, that's a very nice looking fish.
As an afterthought..what do you keep the temp at? Some have reported that their goldfish get really slow or sluggish and stop eating during the winter..

Re: Moor Goldfish acts slow and heavy! Help!
thanks for the help. turns out it was just his time i suppose... had to dispose of the little guy this morning. had grabbed him some peas to try and feed him, after reading about the symptoms, but he had already taken the nap water temp is steady at about 78. he really thrived up til a couple of weeks ago, and the new golds were added only a few days ago.. still treating the one for ick, but they seem to be acting within the norm.
thanks again!
