Crazed Albino Cory Catfish
I know that Catfish are supposed to be bottom dwellers but this one all over the place! he hardly rests and swims furiously up and down the glass. He does eat the flakes that are on the ground. It is only a two gallon tank but it is just him and another two very very small fish. All arrived yesterday. the two little ones seem to enjoy themselves very much. Any advice is welcome, Thanks!

Re: Crazed Albino Cory Catfish
Welcome Pierre to FTF. Sounds like you have a "character" there. How long has this tank been running? If it is not cycled then he may be trying to escape from the toxins in the water. Give us a little more detail please. Fish don't always do what they're suppose to do. I have at least 3 saltwater fish that are suppose to be strictly veggie eaters...but they sure do love their shrimp!

Re: Crazed Albino Cory Catfish
It has been set up and running for about 10 days. It is a small 1.75 gal tank. I have some live plants. and a small little hut. I just got the fish yesterday so I thought that he was having trouble adjusting but I am still very concerned for him. It almost seems that he is chasing his reflection. sometimes he will run up to the top of the tank and jump out and other times he just goes up and down. I was reading that they like to be in groups, does he miss his friends? thanks, pierre

Re: Crazed Albino Cory Catfish
SO I am guessing that you are cycling with this fish? Have you looked at our video tutorials about this. There is a front page article about cycling and there is also a video on this subject that can be found in the Site suggestion, comments..etc. Please view and get back to us. Could be he is just suffering through the beginnings of the cycle. Do you know what your water parameters are?

Re: Crazed Albino Cory Catfish
In my experience, a cory will do this just about any time it is first introduced someplace new. Adding to the difficulty for yours is that it lacks its school. Corys should be kept in groups. In the wild, they live in groups numbering in the dozens, even hundreds. In my experience, the minimum for the aquarium would be three. I see two choices for you...a bigger aquarium and at least two new buddies, or exchanging him for a different fish (may be impractical if you don't have a store nearby that will allow this).
Since your aquarium is not cycled, and it is so small, you need to be changing about 30-50% of that water every other day, if not every day.
