Tapeworm? I'm not 100% sure, but I thought that was something animals (dogs/cats mostly) got by eating fleas and flea eggs. I could be wrong about that, it's just something I've heard before. Anyways, your fish likely has some sort of internal parasite. If the 10g isn't already a running, established aquarium, it's likely not going to help very much to put him in there. You're probably going to be best off treating him in the main tank he's being kept in. A medication you might want to try would be Jungles Parasite Clear. It seems to be a fairly mild medication, and I've had some success with it in the past. Might want to use half the recommended dosage for a pleco though. Hope that helps.
