There's a video around here somewhere too.. not sure where though!
Uh I've heard of people using food to create ammonia in their tanks, but it's not what I'd really recommend. Some people use "hardy Fish" in order to cycle their tanks, but thats also something that I don't believe to be a good idea. Fish and ammonia don't really mix in my opinion! I've found pure ammonia at Ace Hardware and Home Depot before. Try asking an employee for help locating it maybe? Good luck.

Last question. Sorry! I found some at there website. Which one should I buy?
http://www.acehardware.com/search/in...w=ammonia&sr=1 Thanks!

Re: I need MAJOR cycling help.
Don't worry about asking questions, thats what this forum is all about! Like Mark said, I'm sure you could find ammonia at any one of the retailers he listed off. I'm not exactly sure which brand of ammonia would be the best for you to purchase online, as they didn't seem to give a whole lot of info about the product! Maybe I wasn't looking in the right spot...

if it is really 7.0 and not 0.7, then i think you need to do a water change

Re: I need MAJOR cycling help.
Please don't panic. I did the same thing, but as the article says...no fish to harm so no worries. Just do a 20% or so water change and measure again. I personally use an old soda straw. I place the straw in the ammonia and then my finger over the hole, bring it out and let 'er go in the tank. I only mention this because having added too much myself I had to complete a few water changes before I got it back down BUT then you have to maintain that 5.0 until your Nitrite/Nitrate begin to do their thing. So be patient, try not to get discouraged...it is so nice when it all gets done properly. So have fun!

Re: I need MAJOR cycling help.
Wow Nathan I am so sorry. You have a 5 gallon correct? I cannot remember if RJR gave the 2-3 teaspns per what gallon??in his article. I will go back and look. If you completely change all the water, then test the new water before adding anything. THEN add a few drops at a time. Like I said, I use a straw so I start off easy and work up to 5.0. Again, hang in there it will be worth it!

So the cycling is going smoothly, Im adding 5 drops with a straw, works great thanks. I just got some gravel for the aquarium, and I have cloudy water? Is there anything I can do to fix it without buy something, or will me filter take care of it ( Whisper power filter 20.) And my Ph is very high very high, is this common during cycling?
