Got my new tank finally!!!

drove 3 hours to get my new 90 gallon tank with a rena canister.....no pics yet...tomorrow im cleaning everything and possibly re painting the stand...i dunno if i want to go with gravel or sand...which is easier?

I've only had small gravel, since I like to keep cory's and loaches. to me it seems easier to clean, but others have said once you get the hang of the sand (for vacuuming) it is not too different.......partly it depends on the type of fish you want etc.

The rena is a good choice, very flexible with the type of media you use, quick and easy to work with.

now comes the fun part......but choose carefully.

Have you looked at the fishless cycling video.....you will need to get some straight ammonia. You can get it at ACE hardware. The quart bottle should be plenty, theirs is a stonger solution than most other brands so go easy on the drops till you see what it does. Don't clean or dispose of the media from your current tank. When you get ready, just put it in your rena. After you get some water in the bottom of your tank, you can put several scoops of gravel (without rinsing it) into your tank....that will really speed things up.

ive set it all up....for some reason my water was VERY green and murky which is unusual...it has cleared up but is still murky...i kept the old media and mixed it with new...i used tap water conditioner and stress zyme.... can i get a link to that video? how should i cycle my tank? and when can i put fish in it...i went with leslie pool filter sand and i love it
