55 gal Af. Cichlid Tank

I have a 55 gallon tank, with 30lb of lace rock with many holes and caves for cichlids but plenty of room to swim and be active, but I was wondering if there were any type of schooling fish i could keep with them??? some tetras or somethin???

How many african cichlids do you have right now? How big are they? Do you know what species they are?

It's not easy to mix tetra's with african cichlids, but it may be possible in some situations. You would diffinetly want to have large and fast tetra's, and it would certainly be best if they were in the tank for a long while before adding the cichlids. Certain less aggressive species of african cichlids like Acei and Electric yellow are also likely going to be more compatible with fish like large tetra's and barbs.
I remember seeing a 40g Breeder tank with a whole bunch of Electric Yellow Labs and Tiger Barbs. It looked pretty cool and had been running for several years without many problems.. And if I remember right, most of the problems were early on and were a result of the tiger barbs picking on each other!
