Questions about Java fern and moss

I think I read somewhere that EXCEL is not liked much by these 2 easy to grow plants. Is this true? I really want to get some of both to attatch to my driftwood and rocks in various places, but I dose with EXCEL daily per directions on the bottle. If it will harm these plants then I don't want to waste my money on them.

Also the lfs around here does not carry either of them, and the only place I can find them is online or ebay. Seems like to me they are very expensive. Does anyone know where I can find them easier and cheaper? I would also buy some from someone here if they have them available? Or want to get rid of some when they are pruning or trimming?

I have not heard that they are sensitive to Excel. IME Both of these plants are somewhat low light and do fine without additional carbon.
