Glowlight Tetras fogging up
Well I am noticing that my glowlight tetras have changed appearance and the center of their bodys has turned to an off white cloudy color. I hope its not that neon tetra disease but they just don't look right at all. Now these are cheap little fish and I am more concerned with the other fish in my tank right now. I do 50% water changes twice a week on the 55g tank. The other fish include angels, a discus, hatches, cardinal and bloodfin tetras, plecos and a few gouramis. Is there anything I can do right now or should I just keep an eye on things?

Re: Glowlight Tetras fogging up
Could be just a stress thing. Have you added anything new or moved things around in the tank lately? I would keep an eye on all of them and see if there is any change in any of the others. Let us know.

Re: Glowlight Tetras fogging up
I hope that is it, I haven't done anything at all out of the ordinary to the tank. Those tetras are the newest in the tank though.

Re: Glowlight Tetras fogging up
I don't get a sense of neon tetra disease from your description. Your large water changes...are there dramatic changes in pH, KH, NO3? What are you using for chlorine, chloramines, heavy metal? \
I agree with Judge, color loss without obvious distress is usually brought on by stress.

Re: Glowlight Tetras fogging up
I use API stresscoat to remove chlorine/chloramine from the tap water that I use for water changes. I have been using this stuff since day 1. None of my other fish show any problems, they are all healthy, full of color and eat just fine. The good news is that the tetras look better now and seem to be clearing up. I did a large water change today and cleaned my filter and media.
