tang black spot disease

Hey,

So over the last week my blue hippo tang has started to get black spots on her which i was told is this black ick. I looked up what to do and was gonna try the fresh water bath and the other one as well. Well i cant catch her to get her out of the tank, she just hides in the rocks and i have tried for hours and i cant catch her. So i am unable to do this bath thing. I have a treatment for regular ick if i did it would it have any effect what so ever. Any suggestions on getting rid of it with out catching the fish. None of my other fish have shown any signs of this. My tang has been eating fine and not acting wierd either

My water levels are all good except my nitrate level is a little high so i am gonna do a big water change, I am also raising the temp and lowering the salt level to see if that will help.

Any suggestion would be great

Sorry Jenna, the black ich is actually a flatworm infection and you must kill on fish and in tank. The young flats will live in the substrate so a reinfestation will occur if the whole tank is not treated...problem could be what is in your tank..corals, inverts..?? Some treatments can be deadly to these.The worms can be controlled with various medications. Formalin based products or trichlorfon appear to be the best medications. In addition to the use of medications, any excessive buildup or organic material and debris should be siphoned from the aquarium several times during treatment. Since the young worms develop on the aquarium bottom, the removal of debris will aid in controlling the disease by reducing their numbers.

Well i finally caught the tang and did a fresh water dip for about 5 minutes. I have noticed the spots getting better and the fish is doing all around better. Now do i need to do another fresh water dip or just presume i got it all??
