RO/DI filter with closed loop dripping water change system!!

Hi,

I am fairly new to this hobby and discovered that when I first time bought a fish tank to my kids! now I have prepared the basement to put 20 fish tanks, I have made some readings in the past few months and was searching for an automatic water change and figured out the my water bill will go high, so I thought of making a closed loop water change system with RO/DI filter, the system will goes like below:

tab water --> RO/DI filter --> reservoir tank with air pump,sub pump and circulating pump or something like that to keep water circulated --> tanks --> waste water goes to another reservoir --> RO/DI filter again through a RO/DI Booster pump.

Once the PH is treated in the 1st water reservoir it will be easier to maintain stable PH I guess!!

If everything goes fine and as planed there will be a problem to remix the useful minerals that have been removed from the water in the fist place, and to continue adding those minerals each time the water has complete the cycle.

Hey MSD...welcome to the forum

That is really an ambitious project. Have you made the rounds of lfs to see how their tanks are plumbed and filtered? There may be commercial "plug and play" systems that would simplify your project...just a thought

actually I did and most of them here are only using power head filters, though few of them using a shop made filter connecting three cascading tanks,

as for my project I am looking for PH treating unit that maybe connected to the system (no luck so far..).

my intention is to make three separated systems as I intend to breed three categories based on their environments. discus, gold fish, and chiclids.

I am now in the process of building the tanks, now they become 53 tanks, 14-300 liters, 14-200 liters- 7-120 liters, 7-80 liters, 7-40 liters and 4-120 liters tall tanks.

the 200-300 liters tanks are for breeding/hospital and community they can be divided as needed, the rest are for pairing off.
for the smaller tanks I will use home made power head filters, and going to build the filter inside the tanks.

any advice in highly appreciated as I haven't started yet ....thanks
