What I did on April Fools day...
I was just so proud of what I did this April fools day I thought I might share, and maybe you'll be inspired! Ok, so...Late last night I went downstairs to "fool" the family computer. First I took a screenshot of our desktop. Then put all of the icons on the desktop into an unsuspicous folder in my documents or something like that. Then I put the screenshot as the background. This made it look as if there were icons and would frustrate people to the death as to why they couldn't click the icons. But that wasn't all, there was still a functional "start menu" bar at the bottom of the screen.(the computer is windows xp) If you simply minimize that there is still a small hint of blue (or whatever color yours is) So, I dragged it to the right and then moved the screen over by playing with the monitor's options. Now, there is no visible bar but there is a fake one from the screenshot.
And then to finish it off I made a little .vbs document that basically made a series of popups come up and you had to click 'ok' and then after about going through 60 popups, it finally said "APRIL FOOLS!!!" And just in case someone got sick of the popups and went to restart the computer, no problems, I put the .vbs thing in the startup procedure so it would come up when the computer started.
haha, all in all, it took me like 15 minutes to set up and like 10 to take down once everyone had their laughs and actually needed to check their email.
I think it took me longer to write this than it did pull the prank.
Probably one of the best april fools day pranks ive ever done. lol

Good one, Greg. Very funny. LOL
It is clear from this that Greg has way, way, way too much time on his hands.
Perhaps we should take up a collection to send him to Summer Camp where he can learn useful skills such as exploring nature, butterfly identification, collecting rocks and learning to tie square knots!
Ha ha.

Good one Greg..me and mine have done that to each other a couple of April Fool's ago...my personal fav, since my other half does a lot of typing, is to pop out the keys and switch the F and the J, the G and the H...and one or two more..hehehehe.

Just don't tell anyone. haha
I wish, I really do, with the amount of talent those guys have that created that, they're probably going to end up getting hired by Microsoft or something like that.

Just goes to show: If you can't beat 'em, hire 'em.
One time in junior high, in the middle of a superfluous keyboarding class that was mandatory, I got so sick of the teachers yelling at me for changing the keys around on the keyboards. So I did this:
(Bearing in mind the systems they used were IBM/PC compatible running Windows 3.1)
Run->DOSSHELL
cd C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
RENAME WIN.COM LOSE.COM
EXIT
The next time the computer was booted up . . . CRASH!
Now here's what makes the situation ironic. That particular computer sat for the rest of the semester because it was 'crashed. . .' and the school's I.T. department couldn't be bothered to notice DOS was fully functional, nor was there a .COM file with the same size, characteristics, and publishing date as the original Windows executable.
Oh, and I also mimicked the 'Stoned' virus from the late 80's on my mom's PC once. All it took was a few minutes of creative and non-invasive editing of the autoexec.bat file.
