Ok, so how we've been addressing the issue of getting guests to join I have a possible solution.
Maybe on the homepage or something have like a 'Most recent posts' section that has some of the most recent posts displayed with date/time. For me, the most important factor in joining a forum is it's activity, this would just prove to some possible members that this is an active forum and not a dead forum that hasn't been posted on in years. It doesn't have to be a most recent posts, i think anything that has a visible and easy to read date would be good for the guests.
And yes, Jay, I am working on the membership benefits thing.
