Re: is it just me...
Hope this thread wasn't too old for me to bring up, but I wanted to add my 2cents. Is there some way to control how fishtankforums.com appears as a search result on google? Cuz as a newbie (maybe not-so-much, by now) I must say I've noticed that there isn't a ton of new traffic (or even a lot of variety in who replies to the current posts), and I've kinda wondered why, too, cuz this is a GREAT site.
When we first set up the tank in January, I googled freshwater fish or something and found a few other sites first, none of whom were particularly welcoming or helpful. Then I found this site and have received helpful, expert, detailed, humorous, specific replies to all my inquiries. I never use any other site now.
But I wonder if part of the lack of traffic has to do with the fact that FTF doesn't always come up in the 1st page or 2 of search results. I just tried a test, and FTF was on first page when I searched for "fish tanks" but not "help with fish tank" or "how to set up a fish tank." Must sleep now, so no time to try other searches, but thought maybe someone could look into that, so that FTF is a page one result for some basic search terms. Cuz I'm thinking that once they find you, they'll stay, just like me! Maybe we could make sure there were threads with key search-phrases in them to get snagged in "typical searches"?????? Just a thought.. {head hitting keyboard...loud snoring!}
{for some reason, this post isn't "reading" on the Forum page or in my subscribed threads. Thought maybe if I edit it, stuff will fall into place???}
