Sick Yellow tang
Hi all,
I have a yellow tang (he's about 3inches in length) and since last night he has been literally spazzing out. He was darting around the tank extremely fast and upside down...he was all over the place. From this he went to just sitting in a corner of the tank flapping his fins really fast and breathing really heavy. This morning when I went to check on him, he was in a cave under my live rock on his side (this particular fish has never before hidden at all, none the less jammed its self into a very small hole). I had seen a similar reaction last week in my hippo tang after she swam right through my LTA and got stung, but in this case I never saw the yellow tang get anywhere near the LTA. He also is not eating. His dorsal and tail fins were also all torn up this morning, but after talking to the guy at the local aquarium store, i have come to the conclusion that this was probably from when he was up in the live rock.
I did a 20% water change this morning to rule any water quality issues out (plus I just had the water tested anyway and everything was perfect). It is now about 8 hours after the water change and the LTA looks horrible. I'm hoping it is just a little stressed from the water change, but it looks like a layer of its skin has fallen off of the body all the way around, and it is also excreting out of its mouth. I have had the LTA for just about 2 weeks now.
I'll try to get some pics up in a little bit, but anyone have any suggestions on either of these issues?
