Re: Yellow Tang going crazy?
Hello, well.....unfortunately you maybe jumped the gun (panicked) a little. I don't believe there is anything wrong with your Tang. Tangs can be very temperamental and high strung. I have had 2 Yellow Tangs that exhibited that behavior. The redness under the skin is a sign or stress and or pure anger and agitation. One of mine, after being introduced to the tank, did not like one of the other fish I had and he would act the way yours did when the other fish would try to check him out. Even after close to a year later he would "out of the blue" act like that, like something was really bothering him. I wrote it off to "he's a nut" (my scientific diagnosis) and just let him throw his tantrum. Now that you have him in QT (I am not a fan) you must watch the copper level real close as to not poison him. Are you testing for copper? This is a must in a copper QT. If he is eating good for a week or so I would reintroduce him to the display tank acclimating him for a good hour or so and I think he will fine.
