Please help .....Ich!

I have a 30-gal freshwater with 5 Platys that I've raised since they were frys and are currently around 5 years old. Water levels are (Ph 7.0; Amonia 0; Nitrite 0; Nitrate 10). I partial water changes every other week. A
bout a week ago I introduced a Plecostomus and tonight I noticed my fish have ich!!! I am so upset about this because these Platys have never been sick. Please can anyone help me. What can I do to help them. What is the best medication to use with them and the Pleco.

Welcome Lynz to FTF. Please don't panic, it will be ok. I know how awful this can be, especially since you have had these guys for so long and they have never been sick. Please go up to the first section and the sub-section is "Site suggestions"..click on that and then go down to video tutorials and you will find a very simple but informative video on how to cure Ich. It does not require a bunch of fancy medications, there are two things that will kill Ich in a freshwater tank...heat and salt.
