Setting up my first " Real " tank.

So, At a garage sale, there was a nice, little 8-gallon octagon, glass aquarium.Complete with light, undergravel filter/aerator, heater, air pump.

Now I am gonna buy a small bio-wheel filter to mount on the side. Then with some Food, Chemicals, testing equipment, gravels, decor, and of course, FISH, I should be set.

Now I have another question:

How do I Get my aquarium ready for fish to be put in?
Also, I was thinking for an 8 gallon aquarium, a 25% water change,once a week should do.

A few points: don't go heavy with the chemicals. I say a little bit of Start Right should be all you need as far as chemicals goes.

25% a week may be a little much in a tank as small as 8 gallons. Don't get me wrong, it won't hurt, but 10% each week should be sufficient.

The only thing is that you need to give it time to cycle before you add any fish.
