Test Kits for the colorblind
I had my 2nd tank when I was 15 years old and bought myself a PH test kit. I learned that PH testing is important in game titled Aquazone. Anyway, so I bought one and you have to compare the color of the result. I can't distinguish the colors so I decided not to go about the PH check and for some reason my fish survived until college. (They died because no one has to feed them).
Anyway, know that I am renting my own apartment now, I wanted to be really vigilant on my tanks water condition because it's only 5 gallons and I don't mind changing the water of 5%-10% every three days. I am now saving money for a test kit but it'll be a bit useless if they are color-rated.
Is there a product to check PH, GH, nitrate and nitrite in my tank without comparing the result from a color table?

I dont think there is such a kit, and if there is, it would cost a fortune. Maybe a friend or relative would read it for you. or even a neighbor.

Yeah have someone read the pH, and hardness of your tap. Then if you need to adjust it you know how to adjust for it every time.
There are digital pH meters out there, but they are costly.

Yeah it is costly. I have searched the net. Costs $50-60 and you have to replace the electrode from time to time.
I currently live alone in my rented apartment so it's kinda hard for me to ask someone to compare the color for me. Oh well..

Re: Test Kits for the colorblind
Hello! I have finally bought an ammonia test kit. It's from API.
Ok, here's what I got:

Can you interpret the results for me? The shots are taken from different angles of light source.
Thanks in advance!

I have the same kit. I do believe you have to view it straight on for accurate results. It looks to me like the reading is at 0, which is good (unless you tank is cycling, in which case you would actually like to see some reading).

Re: Test Kits for the colorblind
I would say zero also. It looks like zero from the first one, the others don't seem as conclusive.
