Protein Skimmer
I just bought a Skilter 250 power filter and protein skimmer for my 29 G SW.
Anyone ever hear of this brand? Is it a good one? I only got it cause it was 15 dollars!! Thats the cheapest i've seen one.

Sorry to disappoint, have heard they are not very effective skimmers. This is only what I have heard.

I agree it is better than nothing, and for the price at least you have a filter if the skimmer doesnt work well.

Have no idea, just know when I was doing research for a skimmer on my 65 the skilter and seaclone were the ones most everyone said to stay away from. Do a google on it and see if you find any info or diy methods to improve it.

look for nasty green stuff up in the top, the more nasty green stuff, the better its working lol
but when you adjust it, just watch the bubbles, if they rise above where the water flows out, and start to go up the tube to the "crap holder" yes, very technical....then you have it adjusted right

I wouldent expect myricals from a 15$ skimmer. this is an expensive hobbie and expect to pay alot for a good working skimmer 100$ - 200$
