Here are the pics of the sump, which I am working to replace with a refugium.

Awesome looking tank. How do you like your foxface? What kind of skimmer do you have?

He is pretty cool, especially at night when he changes to a choclate brown color and looks like a different fish. Currently I have an Aqau-c 180 skimmer(hate it) I have ordered a euro-reef rs 135 and should have it in a couple of weeks.

I actually bought the whole tank as it is 6mnths ago, was not happy with the plumbing and the sump, I am in the process of building a new refugium and will replumb the whole tank when I add the new refugium. I personally hate hoses, and this one has too many. Took around 12hrs total to take it down, move it 300 miles and set it back up.

I have a chiller for the tank, but did not set it up for the summer, I dont use the metal halides often right now, seeing all the corals are soft. Will get the chiller hooked up for next summer. the tank stayed at around 80* in the dead of summer with all the fans running on the tank. The only fans currently running right now is the ones in the hood.

Hey, 80 is a good temp for the tank to be at. I keep mine around 81.

What are your thoughts on your next refugium and plumbing design?

Nice choice on the skimmer, I hear good things about Euro-reefs. Maybe you can confirm that for me.

Euro reef one of the best, was looking at a GSM 3 from e-bay for 245.00 plus shipping, but the reef store I help out at a couple times a week is going to sell me a euro-reef at cost 240.00 plus shipping, heck of a deal. am designing my own skimmer and will build it myself, I want a 2 piece design. The main tank of the refugium will sit on the bottom of the stand and hold the skimmer and all other stuff I want to add, and sitting a little above and to the right will be my chamber for the sand and algae. Here is a link that shows something similar to what I want. Will post all details as I get it designed. Sump for a 340g reef

The link appears to be broken. Melev's a good man, really knows his stuff. Have you checked out his 200+ Identified Species list by picture? I think I am familiar with the setup you're referring to. Keep us posted on your design ideas, we could use some DIY suggestions around here.
