Re: Fist SW Upgrade: 55 to 90 gals

So I've been a little slow on using up my underwater camera's film. However, I'm going to Hanama Bay today, so I should be able to use up the remaining film. I've taken a few pics in a lagoon at Ko Olina resort (I hope they turn out). So far I've got pics of a sea turtle (snorkeling with him was awesome), convict tangs (among other types), butterfly fish, assorted wrasse and a few moorish idols. I wish I could take my Rebel XTi snokeling....

I'm afraid the pics won't be developed for several more days. So, in the mean time, I've selected a few pics from this morning's tide pool adventuring. Enjoy!

I never realized just how well blennies can jump. I watched these guys jump from pool to pool trying to get away from me. It's amazing how they can keep track of their surroundings.

Very nice Rychek. I think that camera does well underwater.

Update on tank? Sorry I was too lazy to go back a page!

Re: Fist SW Upgrade: 55 to 90 gals

I'm planning an update later this week. I'm still in Hawaii, so I don't really know what's going on with my tank. Although I did get a report this morning that my Neon Goby is MIA. Hopefully he's in the sump, but I won't know until tomorrow at the earliest.

Re: Fist SW Upgrade: 55 to 90 gals

Tank update: the neon goby is indeed MIA as is my cleaner shrimp. I haven't seen any evidence that they are dead or alive, they merely aren't there (which makes me think they are most likely dead).

However, on a positive note, the zoa polyps that I thought I had lost, have made a comeback! I have two (possibly three) very small polyps now. Hopefully they won't get eaten again. I moved the suspected consumer (mythrax crab) into the fuge, but he will be leaving the tank soon due to his eating all of my cheato while I was gone. This is going to be an expensive month.

Side note: I think one of my O. clowns might actually be a Percula. I post a pic once I get unpacked and do some maintenance, but it has thicker black borders and it has developed quite a bit of black between its first and second stipes. It sure is growing quickly though.

Here are a couple of pics of my mystery clown. It was sold to me as an Ocellaris, but I'm not so sure now.

At purchase:

Re: Fist SW Upgrade: 55 to 90 gals

The consensus of my local reef club is that this is a Percula. I tend to agree.

It looks like my Hawaii pics are going to take a while. My wife sent the camera to Snap Fish for developing. It'll probably be at least another week. Oh well.

You've got to love local reef clubs. I picked up a couple of frags today, so I thought I'd share. These aren't the best pics; I need to learn how to take better pics with my camera. Anyway, on the pics!

Neon Green Zoanthids

Pink Lemonade Palys
