Re: 55 gallon fowlr

I finished my home work early today so I decided to drop in and see what you got. I would have to say it makes a nice addition to your tank but I have one question are they reef safe?

Well with caution... I have checked several places online about them, some say no, some say yes, and most say with caution. My shrimp are bigger than him now, when he gets bigger there could be a problem, I will be monitoring him closely for a bit. Most of the sites said they would protect corals and may eat smaller shrimps.

I hope for the best. So you didn't have a mantis in the tank after all?

Not that I could find. I took the one rock out I thought he was in, searched for him. I also poked around inside the rock, nothing. I removed another rock that he could have been in, and nothing aswell. I havent heard any noises from my tank in a couple of days now. I think all is well, I hope.

Re: 55 gallon fowlr

Me walking into my lfs is always trouble. The GF takes me and I wanted to get my clean up crew. I went to get red leg hermits. They only have 3, and he accidentally gave me 2 blue legs for free. ahhh! Oh well they are small so I will add them in. I also got 10 Nassarius Snails, to help keep my sand turning and cleaner.

Before all of this, when we pull up to the store I see a sign....50% off hagen powerheads.... I got the Aquaclear Model 70, rated at 400 gph... get this 21.99.... I could not pass it up. The guy that was working there was buying a bunch to re sell on Ebay.... Not a bad idea....

I have significantly upgraded my water flow. I replaced the zoo med finally!!! Yeah piece of junk.... lol

Since this powerhead is the real deal. I down graded on the opposite side from a MJ1200 to a MJ900. So now I got like 630 gph moving around, plus my skimmer. Im good now! SERIOUSLY!!!!

My GF is gonna kill me soon!!!

I have removed more than 1/2 of my surface skum already with my surface skimmer add on for my skimmer. Aqua C puts out some real quality products. Their customer service is even better, might I add.

Re: 55 gallon fowlr

None of my lfs(5 of them) have any red legged hermits... They all have blue legs but no red ones.... Looks like I have to go to That Fish Place this weekend and get some from there. They have it all, all the time!!

Didnt see the Wrasse again. 3 days hes been hiding or out when Im not home. I do leave the house for 8+ hrs a day to work so for all I know he could come out when Im not home....
