1.7 gallon planted

Wanting to plant a 1.7 gal tank for my son, i will be putting in a flourite substrate but i need to know what and how to dose if needed at all. I also read that u don't have to use Co2 that it just helps the plants grow faster, is this true or do i need to inject.

Thanks Bunafireman825

What is really important is plant health. Plants are 40-60 % carbon by dry weight, which tells us plants need carbon to grow and be healthy.

In a 1.7 gallon tank with fluorite, there are lots of plants that will do well with just adequate light, and fish. The tank being so small, nitrates and phosphates will build quickly from feeding and provide nutrients while enough CO2 will dissolve from the atmosphere.

Re: 1.7 gallon planted

I have planted the tank using flourite as the substrate, plants are thriving and growing just fine.

Just an update.
