Basic Freshwater setup

Small update:

I have went "plant crazy"

Im not familiar w/ some of the names. They told me at the store but I forget. Maybe get some help on that.

Plant1.jpg - has a big bulb that is planted and long curly leafs 1 of those

plant2.jpg - left side, bushy type plant. 1 of those The one on the right I have 4 of those... Tall 2 tone green. roots but no bulbs.

Plant3.jpg - tall straight leafs, small bulbs with tiny roots.

Plant 1 and 3 might be some sort of vallisneria maybe spiral vallisneria......and plant 2 is probably Cabomba caroliniana as far as I can tell.

Is it the one on the left or the right?

I just got back from the LFS.

Plant 1 is a Onion Plant

Plant 2 on the left is a Cabombia Carolinina AKA Fanwort.

Plant 2 on the right is Green and White Acorus

Plant 3 is spiral vallisneria I think...that is the one i forgot to write down.

Hey Andy if you really like plants a good one to try is java fern, its really hardy, needs no special light or fertilizer does not require substrate it is usually fixed to rocks or drift wood so you can move it around and it grows baby plants on the edge of its leaves. When the baby plants get big enough (they grow fast) they will either fall off or you can gently pull them off and fix them to another rock or decoration and watch them grow. Kinda cool!
