Lightbulb CO2 injection for plants

I realized something you can do with your CO2 reactor. (if you are into high light planted aquariums) On the end of my inlet tube(the tube that the CO2 goes into the reactor) I put a valve. I blew into the tube and filled up the reactor's chamber with my breath and I noticed that it will last a few hours until it has dissolved all the air into the water! I thought that was great because it is free so I turned off the reactor pump to let the air out of the chamber and turned it back on and held my breath for a bit to ensure that I exhale CO2 rich, and I refilled the chamber and shut the valve. I already know that the plants do not use CO2 at night so I can fill the chamber in the morning and refill it when I come home.

This way is not cheap. It is FREEEEEEEEEEE!

Hi JoelRyan, welcome to our forum!

LOL, I guess I have this reaction to your post.

I enjoy a good sense of humor, and that you could construct that story using part fact and a lot of nonsense, and do it, with a straight face and implying a serious tone is a good laugh.

Thanks!

Regards,
Jay

Hey fishuz

You are thinking about a DIY (do it yourself) CO2 generator. Yeast and Sugar fermenting in a bottle produce CO2 gas. I guess they are ok for a small tank say up to 30 gal, the problem is it is very difficult to get them to be consistent.
