The O2 use by plants at night is very small, not enough to worry about O2 depletion in the tank. Healthy photosynthesizing plants will quickly super saturate the water with O2. If your plants are pearling (little bubbles), then the tank water cannot dissolve any more O2, thats a good thing.
Keep in mind that your pH is going to change when you use CO2. It can drop during injection as much as a point...7.2 - 6.2. That is why a solid KH of at least 4 dKH is necessary to prevent a pH crash. Contrary to what you hear around the lfs this cycle or swing is NOT harmful to the fish.
The pH will climb back up during the lights off period. A little surface agitation is all that is needed to maintain good gas exchange ( CO2 out O2 in ) If an air stone makes you more comfortable thats fine, it is not essential.
