Re: 90 Planted- Suggestions/Tips?

hey, andyoybna,

your tank looks nice! the white sand is good lookin stuff
i would put a blue back ground on it, and i think your black and gray fish colors will pop out more.

a bristle nose plecostamus will take care of most algae, not get too big, and definately love nibbling the driftwood, as it helps them with digestion. (fiber?)

i have a 90 gal. fw, but it is 2' high and that's plenty tall . in it i have, among other plants, crinium thaianum (onion) and the curly long leafs of these plants disguise the utilities. i have a variety of rainbow fish, 1 pictus cat (like you), 2 clown loach, 1 oto, and 1 siamese algae eater.

don't forget the sword plants are heavy root feeders, so if you haven't you might check out flourish tabs, or what ever you think will work for you.

keep up the good work.

al

Well, I got away from the whole top cover plant idea, and just put my cabomba in the back, looks much better IMO. I'm starting to grow a bit more algae, but the tank is definately starting to come together!

Here is a tank vid

So... the honey gourami disapeared, not in the tank, not on the floor, not in the overflow, don't think he could fit in anyones mouth, I seem to have bad luck with gouramis.

Tank is doing well though, everyone is eating A LOT! 2"x2" square of frozen food about 3 times a day, or 2-3 cubes 3 times a day... pigs! More expensive than feeding my 6 dogs
