| Re: plants for goldfish tank? Hi Moon fish
You CAN keep goldfish successfully in planted tanks. I've keept some very well planted display tanks with Goldfish and had a lot of success. All it takes is a little pre-planning, and choosing the right plants.
Plants such as Elodea and Vall are virtually indestructible and will do well in a goldfish tank.
Just avoid any plants that have fine leaves, as the goldfish will make a meal of them over a short period of time.
One way to get over the problem of the plants being up-rooted by your fish is to add the plants about 4 to 6 weeks before you add the fish. This will give your plants some chance of settling in their root system.
Another way is anchor your plants using "plant anchors" which are usually stocked by most LFS's
Hope this helps & good luck |
