if u find out your watts per gallon, it becomes much easier to choose proper plants, although ur tank is probably large enough that u wont have to worry that much
in my 30 gallon tank i have three healthy amazon swords, one of which is huuge. but, an amazon sword would have no chance in my 10 gallon tank, which, unfortunately, is hard to get many watts per gallon into. java moss is great because it needs very little light. Wisteria is a good for a medium to higher watts per gallon aquarium, (the stuff in my 10 gallon all died

)
I have some plants that i dont know the name of surviving in my 10 gal, i think maybe they are one of the many subspecies of hygrophelia (i think thats what its called, correct me if im wrong)
im sure u could easily find a website with a list of plants and the needed watts per gallon, or if in doubt, ask an employee at a good aquarium store (the people at Walmart rarely know much about fish) lol
