I am starting a new planted aquarium in my 29gl established aquarium. I have 5 blk skirt tetras, 1 neon tetra, 2 blk tetras, 2 albino corydoras, 1 juli corydoras, 1 dwarf honey gourami, and 1 so called "blue flame" gourami. I was wondering what kind of plants I should get and what type of supplements and lighting i should use.

Lighting is usually 2 - 3 watts of light per gallon of water, and some type of Co2 system depending on what type and how many plants you want.
That being said my current tank has about 1.7 watts per gallon and no Co2 system and I have several healthy plants, I just stay away from plants certain plants.

You should look a different plants, find the ones you like and research what they require, lighting and Co2 systems can be expensive.

if u find out your watts per gallon, it becomes much easier to choose proper plants, although ur tank is probably large enough that u wont have to worry that much
in my 30 gallon tank i have three healthy amazon swords, one of which is huuge. but, an amazon sword would have no chance in my 10 gallon tank, which, unfortunately, is hard to get many watts per gallon into. java moss is great because it needs very little light. Wisteria is a good for a medium to higher watts per gallon aquarium, (the stuff in my 10 gallon all died )
I have some plants that i dont know the name of surviving in my 10 gal, i think maybe they are one of the many subspecies of hygrophelia (i think thats what its called, correct me if im wrong)

im sure u could easily find a website with a list of plants and the needed watts per gallon, or if in doubt, ask an employee at a good aquarium store (the people at Walmart rarely know much about fish) lol
