I thought a nano tank was a small almost self contained tank, wrong!!!!!!! what is the diff between nano tank and a small tank?

I always thought a nano was a tank under something like 29g. I read that here a long while back.

I have heard some people say under 100g, some say under 75g, and some say under 40g.

It all depends on who you ask. I would somewhere under 40g.

Pretty much everyone so far has it incorrect. The original "Nano" tank was 10 gal. and hence the term nano meaning small or more correctly dwarf from the Greek nanos. Since, companies have developed "nanos" that can be up to 29 gal. but in my opinion anything over 14 gal. (as my Oceanic Bio cube, another term) is stretching the term quite a bit. More accurately you can have bio cubes (bio taken from biological and cube meaning the shape) as large I suppose as they can build them. I would define a small tank as anything under 40 gal.
