Never heard of this?!

I haven't posted anything in a while. Unfortunately, not much has changed lately. BUT, all of a sudden my Live Sand is completely saturated with red ( coraline ? ) algae and I have pink and purple corraline "exploding" all over the glass and rocks ( I swear this is true ) MY LIVE ROCK AND LIVE SAND IS BUBBLING!!! I've never heard of this . What's up????????!!!!!!!!!!

Try to post a pic. Coraline doesn't grow on sand, that sounds like red cyno.

I agree with Jed, sounds like cynobacteria and is normal to have it in tanks under 1 year. You need to find the source of it though to remove it for good.

The bubbles are from the algae using up oxygen and growing.

No calcium isn't a nutrient for cyano. It could be nitrates, phosphates, excess lighting, excess nutrients in your source water, or not enough flow to name a few causes.
