| Help I did a 15% water change last weekend just like every weekend. SG is 1.24, temp is 79.7, NitrIte 0, NitrAte 10, hardness 425, alk 240, ph 8.2. All these are the same with only minute fluctuations, mostly the temp. I have a hard time regulating the temp. Tang, up until this morning had been eating everything I have put in for him (shrimp, flakes). He's been swimming all over until this morning. Not much movement at all. Color is still the same, no spots or marks of any kind. All other tank mates are normal. Any suggestions? I could try a picture but it won't provide any more info. Just picture a yellow, healthy tang and that's what he looks like. Oh, I forgot ammonia is also 0. Since day one, which was on June 26th when I got him he has been very active so this is surely different. ??? |

| Re: Help Although size isn't necessarily an indicator of age with fish it is with Yellow Tangs. How large is it? I had one one that actually lived for quite a while for me (2 years?) and as it got older (and bigger) it went through periods like you are describing. I wouldn't worry unless it is not eating. |

| Re: Help Bert is almost 3 inches long and up until this morning he was eating like a pig and very active. You think maybe this is one of those phases like yours had? I hope so. Did not take me long to get attached to him. Thanks Uncle Jed...as always! |

| Re: Help Yes, I think that was the case. Also, mine would stay in one spot sometimes and "twitch". When it first did it a few times I thought, oh boy, it's getting ich but nothing developed and over time I just think that it was part of it's behavior. |

| Re: Help Hey Judge,
Just to be on the safe side, I would start soaking all food and seaweed in a vitamin supplement like Selcon or Zoecon. It will boost their immune systems with essential vitamins and minerals it might not be receiving. You could also try garlic extract by kent, it's more of a stimulant than additive...

| Re: Help Thanks but too late. I found him dead this morning. Cannot tell you how upset I am. Wow it was fast. Everyone else seems ok but I am at work today so until about 4:30 I can't do anything as far as preventative maintenance. |

| Re: Help I am sorry to hear about your loss.
Your fish could have be doomed before you even purchased it with a bacterial infection or some other ailment. Sad thing is you can never tell.
Keep your head up!
