Re: 120Gal CLS

I would buy a cheap maxi-jet for mixing up salt, a 900 model is way cheaper than a Koralia. I use a MJ 600 for my 20g storage bin, works great!

Re: 120Gal CLS

ok perfect saved a little bit of money i guess since it mixes for 12 hours it doesnt take too much turnover...........

update: the owner of the LFS says he will make me a 40 G breeder tank sump with glass baffles all nice and pretty baffels are beveled and everything for 100 bucks i told him go ahead i could make it myself for any cheeper.

few quick questions might as well keep them in this thread.

1) im thinking seachem reef salt for salt... any input? experence? i use seachem products in my planted tank and am extremely happy.

2) what do people use under i guess buffers?
i will need something becuase ro di water is 7.0 ph with 0 KH and 0 GH correct?
is seachem reef builder good choices?
should reef plus and reef calcium be on the list to purchase?

Hey E,

It all depends on what your parameters are, each salt mix has differetn values.

You are correct that RO/DI water is 7.0, the salt mix will add in everything you need. It will buffer ph, magnesium, calcium, trace elements etc.

Re: 120Gal CLS

thats a good site/ test im gonna book mark it for future reference. i never clued in that the salt would probably have all the trace elements in it. thats good it saved alot of money in buffers
