| Not enough salt... I just tried a different brand of salt and I don`t want to bash any products but, I was totally disappointed . The makers of this salt make other aquarium products and have a very good rep. I mixed up a bag like I usually do , put my heater and powerhead in my bucket and let it sit for 24 hours . I tested the salinity of the water today before I did my w/c and it was almost non existent. I followed the direction to the new salt and it didn`t work . I found the package to the salt and re-read the directions , then I noticed the last thing on the package : "May have to add salt or water to get correct salinity." I had to add a cup of salt to every 5 gal. to get it right . I was just wondering if anyone else has had problems with mixing up s/w? I just think if it says it will make x amount of gal of s/w it should do it . Looks like I`ll just stick to I.O.

| I don`t want to trash a brand just because of one bad exp. This brand has some of the best quality products out . I was just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem with salt?

| well sometimes it is a good thing to share experiences with your fellow aquariusts so we can monitor ours as well. I use Tropic Marin and have never had a problem.....though I have with Seachem. I have been thinking of switching to TM Pro any comments?????? |

| Hey! I have never tried either of those brands. So the reason I tried switching is I`m buying these 20/25lbs bags of salt and the salt is clumping together and after this starts it is harder to disolve even using a powerhead mixing the s/w. Hey anyone ever tried the premixed saltwater ?

| Stupid question of the day. On the topic of salt, what's the difference between reef salt and marine salt? and can either one be used as normal?
Thanks,
Ariel
