| Re: My 90g setup (pics) All looks good, just wait for the Ammonia and Nitrite to hit zero and your good to go. Now you wait, heres where the patience comes in to play!

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) I got my tds meter, new filters, and di resin today. 0 ppm, I feel much better now than just assuming my product water was good. My tap water is 95 ppm, better than I suspected. But it's got chlorine and chloramamine so I've got the chloramamine upgraded filters.

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) Well today I've noticed that my water is turning green. It looks cloudy from the front and when I look through the side it's pretty green. Also, I'm already getting the rust colored stuff (is it diatoms already or a KH problem) on my sand, lr, skimmer pump, and glass. Todays readings:
Ammonia: .125
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 15
PH: 8.3
KH: 230 ppm- getting high
Calcium 450
Phosphate: 0
Salinity: 1.023
Temp: 79.1
I don't like this green water and rust color on everything after only like three days. I also bleached my coralline white I assume from too much light too fast....the fun begins. Any suggestions?

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) Seems normal for a newly established aquarium. Heck, I still get them after 8 months! The rusty stuff is a diatom bloom. The green color to the water is most likely due to a green algae bloom. Water changes will help fight this. You can also manually remove the algae with a syphon.

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) OK, I did a 5 gallon water change today and am going to continue these small water changes daily until it clears up. Should I go any bigger while it's cycling?

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) I would actually let it go for a bit. It is part of the natural cycle. Wait on the water changes. I had a huge diatom breakout when I started up. Its all gone now, once I hit the green algae cycle I then added in a cleaning crew. Only when water parameters were within range. After the green bloom, I would start with water changes.

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) Alright sounds good, I'll see how nature take it's course. I too started out with salt and not fresh. My skimmer has been going crazy the last couple days even when set almost as high as it goes. I'm letting it do this to keep taking out as much dirty water as I can and replace it with fresh.

| Re: My 90g setup (pics) I've got a bunch of little air bubbles in my sand that float up to the surface all the time. I was just curious if this is just oxygen or if it's the nitrates being converted to nitrogen.
