My pink tip anonome has been acting very strange lately he has now moved on the sand bed and shriveled up like a little booger, two hours later he was up on the side of the rock about one inch from the sand but he was all spread out just looking spectacular, what is causing him to go down? all water peramiters are ok lights are 265 watts, 75 gall, 1 damsel,1 yellow tang, 1 lawnmower blennie, 2 clowns, 1 coral banded shrimp, xenia coral ,and a couple of various soft corals all are in great health

My pink tip anemone does the same thing. It expels all of it's water, turns grey (looks dead) and then "puffs" back up again.

how long have you had it for and how ofton does it look gross and dead and how often does it move around

My pink tip haitin anemone just did the same thing this morning...I've had it about a week now & so far it's been happy & water's fine too. It started the morning all-sucked-up....hardly any of its tentacles out...by mid-day it was out in full splendor...the only bizarre-ness going on otherwise is the fact that it's accepting my 2 domino-damsels intermittently after having accepted both one of my percula clowns & one of my tomato clowns!

I've started to call it the "easy-hussy-anemone"...but feel that's rather harsh - hence I'm on this forum searching for answers or other undisclosed truths!
