I Am Lost With My New Fish Tank!!!

I had a small fish tank (freshwater) for 9 years, and I want to move on to something else. I got 68.5 gal fish tank from one guy...It is saltwater fish tank...it has all the equipment in it. The problem is , that everything is seperated and I have no clue how to put it together. It looks much more dificult than my freshwater tank. Could someone guide me throu this

I could take pictures of all things I have and e-mail it to you so you could help me!

I would be the happiest person in Florida PLEASE

There is a great book on the market - I read it when I started. It is called "The New Marine Aquarium" - it will tell you everything!!

I have a book, but like I said I have all the equipment I just don't know how to put it together... I don't want to buy new stuff and spend a lot of money if I have it already. Book doesn't tell me about my equopment...

I actually bought that book when I started my salt water tank. Good info for beginners.

ya it took me a day to figure out how to put my sump together. like adding the straw thing between the pump and sump...

If I understand the situation correctly it sounds like you purchased this equipment second hand without manuals or even names on some of it. If possible I would try to contact the person that I purchased it from and see if they could show you how to set it up. If that does not work I would try to find someone local that could give you a hand in figuring it out. Pictures on the forum will help but it is still going to be really hard to match up all the different parts etc. that could be done fairly easily in person by someone that has set the equipment up previously. Just my opinion. I would also try to figure out the brands etc. and try to manuals which are often available on web sites.

I would start up a photobucket account and upload lots and lots of pictures of your set up. I know how frustrating it is since I did the same thing and it took me a week to figure it out. Once I realized how it went, I realized how easy it really is. I am sure if I cannot help you, someone can....if it is not already too late.

The guy who sold his 75 gallon fishtank is very rich. Everything was costum made for him, and even filters and all the pumps. He spent $2000 for just equipment and this fishtank, and I got it from him for $300

that was a deal that I couldn't resist :P I f I would call him up he would have no clue what to do with it, because he had a guy from a company coming to his house every other week to check on everything and to set it up.
I figured out the part with my filter, which is Wet-Dry filter with bio-wheel. I have a skimmer, and I had no clue where to put it or what it is, so I took the picture wiht my digital camera, went to the "Big Al's Aquarium Store" and the guy who works there was very helpful explaining everything. So now I know all the equipment I have and what else I'm missing.
I'm just saving money so I could buy sand and rock since it is so expensive

And all of you know that already! But thank you for your help... if something I'll ask you more questions...which I think I will have a lot
