I see...so shrimps are ok then?

This thing growing at all since you took the pictures?

Yep the shrimp are fine. They have actually molted in the tank, so they must be doing great. Speaking of molting... My arrow crab did so yesterday. Talk about watching something crazy. I would suggest picking up one of these guys if you don't have one. They are reef safe and really cool to watch.

The "thing" hasn't really grown too much bigger since I posted the picture.

I have seen them around but did not look to see if they were ok for a reef. I bet that was a sight to see when it molted!

A couple weeks ago, my wife came back up into our room and told me that both my fire shrimp had gotten torn apart! I went down to the tank and sure enough, they were floating in peices in the currents. When I took a closer look though, I realized that they had both molted at the same time, which is a first for me. I was pretty freaked out for a second though becuase I had thought my tank was nearly 100% passive and I didnt want to have to figure out who the culprit was. Everyone is good though thankfully!

Does the 'thing' move around the glass at all (or rocks)?

Also, does it seem to have two 'arms' or antenae that are longer than anything else?

Yeah, the first time one of my hermit crabs molted I thought it died, but then looking at it closer you can kinda tell. That just means that our tanks are ideal conditions. I read that they won't molt unless the conditions are perfect and they feel safe.


One of the "Things" moves around a lot. But the other one just stays in a general area. But they do move around. The don't have anything on them that look longer than the other. They look almost identical.

And you are pretty sure that it is not an anemone, huh?

I was over at a co-worker's house about a month ago and he had picked up a lettuce nudibranch that came as a stow-away on some new live rock. It looked a lot like your picture, but I also know that pictures are not as good as looking at something in person, even if it is through glass. I haven't been able to find any pictures online of them in a juvy stage either. It is probrably a long-shot, but thought I would mention it.
