| Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics So As discussed in my previous thread, my old coralife system went out, so I sprung for a new Giesemann halide system. So here is everything setup, took me some time to get the stuff drilled into the wall and anchored to support it all, but came out pretty good, may look at changing out the support beams to smaller ones because right now the light is more towards the front of the tank I wanted towards the middle but couple inches to long so maybe another home depot run but not today.
My camera does not do it justice its super bright and has a brilliant light, went with the Giesemann mega chrome coral light for the halide.
Onto the pics: |

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics Sweet setup man! Looks good! Now you need to sit back and watch this thing ''grow''. You will start to see some weird things popping up...
Dr. I think you are right, looks like just a HQI setup....

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics Its just the HQI Basic so just a single halide 150w bulb in there its a coral 14500k, Does anyone suggest I buy a cheap hood light to offset in the back with a single flor. or t5, or leds or anything like that? I figured the halide was enough but open to any ideas as well. |

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics It's up to you... I am currently just running Mh's (14K). I like the color and maybe one day I'll add in a single actinic bulb for that extra pop. But for now looks good to me!

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics I agree....sweet set up....looks like you took some care getting that thing up.....what size is it?
Personally, I have a 50/50 t5 14k/460 actinic....sometimes I think it's too much " blue ". . ..I like the "halide look".

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics Thanks guys for the kind words, Yah It took some care as I would not like my $400 light system to fall into water lol, I actually redrilled the bars the other day, so the light is not more centered but still a little bit towards the back so it hits more of the rock. Also I bought another 23lbs cured rock from the lfs the Other day, So main tank should be around the lbs I want now, and did a little aquascaping to get things going, Pretty much but one massive 23lb rock, but its nice and large with a lot of caves and holes and very good for filtration so It looks. |

| Re: Setup Almost complete, New Light Pics Short story? Didnt ever think or know about doing an overflow box, didnt know I was going to get this deep into things and love this hobby this much, nor spend this much lol so needless to say couple inches to short between the wall. |
