So.. I left the light off in the tank for hours tonight while the sun was down, so it was pitch-black in my room for several hours. When I came back in, I turned on the lamps in my room and proceeded to feed my fish.

Every single time I walk up to my tank, the fish come and swim towards me, ready to eat... but this time, they slowly moved around the bottom of the tank, bumping into things, acting like they had no idea where they were going. They literally were just swimming into rocks and decorations.

However, I noticed that this only affected my goldfish and NOT my zebra danio.

I've never noticed this before and am wondering if something is wrong... After about a minute, they seemed to regain eye sight, but it was still really weird... and I've never observed this before.

Sometimes I turn lights on at a different time, and some of the fish seem to stay where they were, I think they are sleeping. (if fish sleep, I dont really know)

If they sleep do they have nightmares? nightfishs? lol

fish have feelings too. lol and i know some fish have sensitive eyes like bloodfin tetras (they go wild when you turn lights on and off) .. basically you just shocked the fish and they should be alright just alittle stunned for a moment or two. however i would recommend turning the light on in the room that the tank is in for a few minutes then powering up your tank light this way they are adjusted some what and its not total shock.. caught off gaurd status.. like when your sitting outside at night for a while and all of a sudden someone shines a flashlight in your eyes.. im sure its a similiar feeling to the fish.. so like i said just remember fish have feeling too!
