Question ghost shrimp shedding???????????????

ok Now I am even more baffled
after finding one of my two ghost shrimp nibbling on what I thought was the remains of the other. I was very upset since I had also just found one of my tetra's floating 1/2 an hour before. (full story see newbie needs help) I have since lost a second tetra.
But and this is a very strange but this morning I did yet one more water change. (getting less messy everytime) I find not one but 2 ghost shrimp nibbling at the base of one of my plants (wafer is 3 inches away go fig)
facts as i know them
1 I only paid for 2 shrimp
2 i have had them less than a week
3 i pulled out something that looked like a shell of a shrimp (deflated) lastnight
4 both shrimp i saw this morning where actively waving their arms and saying "HAHAHA we dont want no stinking wafer we want your plant"
5 I have tried to look up "shedding, ghost shrimp, dead shrimp back to life" (ok didnt really look for the last one but you get the idea) with NO results other than things like "I have a cute little ghost shrimp"
So all that said any light on the subject. Do Shrimp shed like snakes and hermit crabs and such????????? it would explain that part of the mystery.
Anywho I would love some thoughts on this or even a good joke to help me think i am not totally out of my mind.
Thanks

Current fish population in question. I dont know what I have or don't it seems

I am not sure how much trouble ghost shrimp might cause to plants or anything else, but yes, shrimp do molt. In fact, it could be considered a good sign to some degree.

Re: ghost shrimp shedding???????????????

good sign ya ok i like that idea. i need a good sign. i just wasnt sure if i was losing my mind or what. So I have a shrimp that molted I will take that as good since molting can go wrong if conditions arent right and the plant in question also seems to be considered a tasty treat by the guppy as well. It was in expensive and I got several stems of it and they seem to already be showing some growth. if they start to kill it I will buy more maybe farm it inthe goldfish bowl (it is rather small) and just transplant as needed it is such a lovely hot pink on green color and i dont begrudge my pets a snack. as long as they dont die on me. Thanks for the reply and verification of my sanity. BTW you need to update you Sig i show 15 or less votes left to #3

Molting is definitely a good sign when it comes to crustaceans you want to keep. At times it can be startling (I've thought my crabs have died multiple times since I got them), but you'll see the differences between molt and dead if you ever have a death.
