You might want to consider Olive Nerite Snails, Neritina reclivata.
They are incredible algae eaters and will not harm plants.
They will not reproduce in fresh water.
The problem with keeping Altum Anglefish is their size, and the fact that most true Altums are wild caught and have no hesitation to go after smaller critters...shrimp, neon tetras, ottos etc.
Young bristle nose plecos are good grazers, but need substantial supplemental food. IME as they get older they will eat your plants, I know, I know the label says plant friendly
