i have a tropical tank and i want to put a goldfish in the tank, i know that they require cold or like cold water. however, i know that goldfish are very adaptable and yes i have coverted a goldfish before. but this time i'm having some trouble. he keeps laying on the floor and being inactive? he being stressed out from the transition, he now has ich, as well as having black spots/markings on his scales

any ideas

What are the conditions you are trying to put them in?

i.e tank size, water conditions, tank mates

I know that a lot of people do it, but I have yet to hear/read that goldfish can be "transformed" into a 100% tropical fish....which might be why it wasn't able to fight off the Ich on its own.

Like Mike says, we need to know more about your exact situation. For example, high ammonia or nitrItes might be the reason it is listless.
