Turtles are awesome. I have tried many times throughout my childhood to keep one with little success. The one I remember the most was a box turtle that my father had built a whole decked out outside habitat for. I like some sort of amazing, idiot set the turtle down a day after my father finished in the grass. I thought he was to slow to escape me if I just went to the bathroom for 5 minutes and boom, I never saw it again. One of my half-friends at the times that lived two doors down found a turtle in his backyard later that day. He claimed it wasn't the same one.

Oh well
Bill

well i had an accident with my cousins turtle. my cousins turtle, which she gave me to take care of, had a condition. it wasnt getting enough calcium or sunlite so it has softshell. it was a Red ear slider living in a small piece of container which was cruel. so i took care of it in a 50 gal tank with 2 plcos, goldfishes and kois. anyways, one day that turtle went into the cave where my crayfish (freshwater lobster, about 3 inches) was living and i guess he ate him. owell i tried my best to take care of him and i had filtered water and a good basking area with light. i think the red ear slider that has softshell (it isnt suppose to) is going to die sooner or later. Yes i was really angry so i fed my crayfish to my larger turtle in the other tank.

Hey plecox! I love turtles ! I use to breed them about 5 or 6 yrs ago. I had children myself and it got to be a little too much so I sold all I had except two new borns. They are about two inches now .

You probabley could somehow? I don`t know what the laws are? Turtles start to get very messy when they are about4" and it has to have a 100% water change almost daily after that? Although when they get almost 12" their metab. slows slightly and it starts to level out somewhat. It is a fun animal to watch and raise if you have the time for them. It is very fun watching them hunt for live fish.

Very nice video! I wish I could get my videos and pictures on here. I really don`t know how to. Your turtles look very happy and healthy. Mine are just like yours in looks. I have mine in a 20gal and they seem to love it. What type of basking lights do you have?
